About Mylar ® RL52
Mylar ® RL52 is a biaxially oriented polyester film with an EVA based heat-sealable coating on one surface and plain polyester on the other. It is typically used as a heat sealable lidding film for fresh refrigerated foods such as salads, produce and sandwiches.
Mylar ® RL52 provides a peelable seal when heat-sealed to APET, CPET, PVC, polyethylene and polystyrene. Seals to polypropylene are only achieved at higher temperatures, so other RL films are recommended. Mylar® RL52 can withstand temperatures as low as -40°C and although the upper melt temperature is 260°C, it is not suitable for all cooking/re-heating applications.
- Recommended storage conditions: 10°C – 25°C; 20% – 50% RH
- Shelf Life: 12 months from delivery date (under recommended storage conditions).
