Mylar® RL52AF is a biaxially oriented polyester film with an EVA based heat-sealable coating incorporating ant-fog properties on one surface and plain polyester on the other. It is typically used as a heat sealable lidding film for fresh refrigerated foods such as salads, produce and sandwiches. Mylar® RL52AF provides a peelable seal when heat-sealed to APET, CPET, PVC, polyethylene and polystyrene. Seals to polypropylene are only achieved at higher temperatures, so other RL films are recommended. In cooking applications Mylar® RL52AF is not suitable for use in conventional ovens and has temperature limitations when used in microwave ovens. The anti-fog properties minimise fogging during freezing, chilling and cooking and also improves clarity when ‘breathable’ products such as fresh vegetables are packed.
Complies with the following European regulations and directives: EU10/2011 and its amendment 1282/2011 relating to materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
